“Kalinda” a classic six berth timber flybridge cruiser.
Kalinda is looking for a new home. She needs a bit of love to finish the restoration and has been priced to allow her new owner to finish the task.
Originally built in 1965 with a spotted gum frame and Oregon planking, she has a rich history and in 1986 she was sold and used as a harbour cruiser, the owner at that time then decided to refit her in his private yard over 2 years, during this time the boat was close to fully refurbished, re-powered with a 165hp, 6-cylinder Volvo and the hull sheathed and painted with two-pack paint. At this time the vessel was fully gutted and re-built in a different design to the original, all timber work inside and out was sprayed with a 2-pack clear polyurethane.
Following this, she was re-sold in 1996 and then again to the current owners in 2018. The current owners have carried out another extensive re-fit of the interior:
- All new upholstery and foam cushions,
- New timber beams and roof panelling re-painted and varnished,
- New stereo fitted,
- New toilet,
- New interior lights.
The original name “Kalinda” was restored to her stern and new timbers on the transom installed, along with a hand-built swim platform.
The flybridge has been refitted with:
- new fibreglass and timbers,
- new led lights on the deck,
- new antennas,
- new solar charging system.
The engine has also been maintained by the current owners, with over $12,000 spent on her history including:
- Regular services
- New battery cables
- New throttle cables
- New water pump
- New prop DH Porter & Co $1,815.00 – 06/2019
- Antifouled – 04/2019
- Cooling system overhaul and turbocharger – 11/2018
- New switch panels – 17/10
- New Muir windlass – 05/18
A brand-new Sirocco 220 inflatable tender and 3.3hp Mercury outboard is also included in the sale.
She does require a little further exterior work however the majority has been completed and would not take much time to finish. An inspection is a must of the gorgeous Kalinda!
