About this vessel
The Cobalt 302 can be summed up as a bowrider on steroids. She's everything of a day boaters dream; super spacious, packed with amenities, and ready for a party on the nearest sandbar!
"At Cobalt we’ve always believed that nothing can be stylish if it’s not first useful." – Cobalt 2007 Catalogue.
Nothing rings truer than this sentiment made by Cobalt in the 302. The 302 is most certainly stylish. Finished in the Sand/Sierra interior option with Rivulet carpets she looks incredible, there’s no doubt about it, but she is also extremely useful and here's why…
Starting at the stern you have a large extended swim platform low to the water, perfect for either leaning on whilst having a dip or to sit on and hang your legs off the stern. Also, aft is a tow hook, leg trim tilt switches, a grab rail and a storage locker. Atop the engine compartment is a day bed big enough for two to soak up the rays, with side access past this for easy access through to the cockpit area, the backrest on this can flip fore or aft so at anchor you can face astern and take in the view or flip it forward to make it a forward-facing part of the inner lounge area whilst underway or dining.
In the cockpit, there's no issue with cramming all your friends and family in with a cockpit layout big enough for an abundance of guests. The wrap around u-shaped lounge is enormous. Fitted with a wet bar just aft of the helm with a sink, large refrigerator and drinks cooler. A very roomy head is located in front of the navigators' chair which the backrest again, like the daybeds, can flip fore or aft depending on the desired seating position. The helm is situated to starboard with a dual flip-up bolster seat and a very stylish and inviting console. All gauges are easy to read and the Garmin GPS unit located front and centre. Another clever featured Cobalt has installed is the hidden flip away cockpit table. Simply remove two cushions, swing the table out and lock it in place. This is a brilliant design as it saves having a loose table pole rolling around in storage somewhere and also negates the need for a pedestal base mounted into the floor.
Stepping through the windshield (don't miss the cleverly hidden bin down near your left knee) you are presented with another large seating area and it's very inviting and comfortable compared to most other bowriders. There's again an abundance of storage with notably a massive locker under the starboard side console chair.
The boat feels lively underway and has no trouble jumping onto the plane! Flip the seat up and bank into some sharp s's and you won't rid the smile off your face. Alternatively, take a proper seat and the leather armrest is perfectly placed to allow your fingertips to rest on the controls and cruise along in style and comfort.
